Časopis Urbanismus a územní rozvoj je odborným periodikem určeným pro potřeby orgánů územního plánování a pro odbornou veřejnost v oborech územní plánování a územní rozvoj, urbanismus, regionální politika a regionální rozvoj, bydlení a stavební řád. Je vydáván Ústavem územního rozvoje od roku 1998. Jeho ISSN je 1212-0855.
Časopis je zařazen do databáze vědeckých časopisů CEJSH (Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities), ERIH+ (evropský referenční index pro humanitní a společenské vědy), databáze EBSCO (referenční databáze vědeckých on-line periodik) a Seznamu recenzovaných neimpaktovaných periodik vydávaných v ČR.
Časopis má tři rubriky:
Od roku 2006 je recenzovaným periodikem v rubrice Názory, diskuse, a to pro vybrané články splňující vědecká a odborná kritéria. Časopis má zpracovanou metodiku recenzního řízení. Recenzovaná část rubriky je v časopise vyznačena.
Součástí časopisu je pravidelná příloha Pořizovatelská praxe & Stavebně správní praxe.
Časopis vychází ve tříměsíční periodicitě v nákladu 1 400 kusů. Zdarma je rozesílán na orgány veřejné správy a na vysoké školy. Kromě pravidelných příloh vycházejí i mimořádné monotematické přílohy.
Obsah jednotlivých čísel je aktuálně zveřejňován na webových stránkách ÚÚR. Úplný obsah čísel je zveřejňován s půlročním zpožděním.

The journal Urban Planning and Spatial Development is a professional journal intended for the needs of spatial planning authorities and for the expert community in the fields of spatial planning and development, urban planning, regional policy and regional development, housing, and building regulations. It has been published by the Institute for Spatial Development since 1998. Its ISSN is 1212-0855.
The journal is indexed in the CEJSH database (Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities), ERIH+ database of academic journals (European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences), and the EBSCO database (a reference database of on-line scientific journals) and the List of Non-impact Peer-reviewed Periodicals Published in the Czech Republic.
The journal consists of three sections:
Since 2006, selected articles published in the Opinions, Discussions section have been peer-reviewed, provided they meet scientific and professional criteria. The journal has an established peer-review methodology. The peer-reviewed part of this section is clearly indicated in the journal.
The journal includes a regular annex, The Procurer’s Practice & Building Administration Practice.
The journal is published quarterly with a print run of 1 400 copies. It is distributed free of charge to public administration bodies and universities. In addition to regular annexes, special thematic annexes are also published.
The contents of individual issues are published on the Institute’s website. Full issues are made available with a six-month delay.
